Skincare Secrets From Our Experts, Annie and Marlon

Annie Lynch, LE

*Be consistent with your skincare routine. Be sure to cleanse your face and neck 1-2 times daily with an appropriate cleanser for your skin type. Be patient and allow your routine to help your skin normalize.

*Timing: Use your fingertips to massage your cleanser gently for 3 minutes. Avoid harsh or drying cleansers, which can cause irritation and surface dryness.  If you wear heavy makeup, use a mild cleansing oil to remove all makeup before cleansing for 3 minutes. If your skin becomes dry or irritated, you're most likely using an inappropriate cleanser.  The milder, the better. Rinse with lukewarm water, not hot.

*Use the proper cleanser for your skin type. Many people use harsh cleansers formulated for acne-prone teenage complexions.  As we age, our skin becomes more delicate and dry. Try taking our Skin Care Quiz or consult with one of our expert estheticians.

*Surface dehydration and congestion are some of the most common issues I see with my clients. When the face is over-cleansed, it becomes dry and dehydrated on the surface, impeding the flow of sebum to the surface and causing congestion.

*Avoid excessive exfoliation and keep the skin hydrated.

Taking care of your skin at home doesn’t have to be complicated!

1. Keep It Simple

Stick to a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen every day. A basic routine is better than using too many products that might irritate your skin.

2. NEVER Skip Sunscreen

UV rays cause premature aging and dark spots. Use SPF 30 or higher every morning, even if you’re indoors. Reapply if you go outside!

3. Hydration is Key

Drink plenty of water and use a hydrating moisturizer to keep your skin soft and plump. Dry skin can make fine lines more noticeable.

4. Be Gentle with Your Skin

Avoid scrubbing too hard, over-exfoliating, or picking at blemishes. Harsh treatments can damage your skin barrier and cause irritation.

5. Treat Your Skin Type

Oily Skin? Use a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer.

Dry Skin? Choose creamy, hydrating products.

Sensitive Skin? Stick to fragrance-free and soothing ingredients.

6. Wash Your Face Before Bed

Dirt, oil, and makeup can clog pores and lead to breakouts. A quick cleanse at night keeps your skin fresh and healthy.

7. Don’t Forget Your Neck & Hands

They age too! Apply moisturizer and sunscreen to these areas to prevent wrinkles and sun damage.

8. Be Patient with Skincare

Results take time. Stick to a routine for at least 4–6 weeks before switching products.
