Let’s face it fellow ‘baby-boomers’, aging is a reality we must endure and ‘aging gracefully’ is passé, rather annoys me and I frankly don’t have a clue as to how to go about it. Then, we’re all bombarded with thousand of images and ads about as many ‘anti-aging’ products.
Well, my philosophy as an 58 year old woman who formulates natural skin care products is: simplify and concentrate on what makes you look and feel good about who you are right where you are, right now! I personally don’t have the time or desire to clutter my life with dozens of lotions, serums, and potions that require a complex schedule.
I’m also not inclined to spend my hard earned cash on Botox, fillers or a face lift. I’m not opposed to these things and if you have the time, desire and disposable income, go for it. I just want to look the best I can and take care of what I have, without the ‘high maintenance’.
Fortunately, I have the enviable job of selecting what I think are the best, most effective ingredients that nature and science currently offer to formulate simple to use, efficacious products for the man or woman who still have a lot of living to do, but don’t want to moan in bewilderment every time they look in the mirror and at their bathroom counter cluttered with ‘stuff’. Granted, mine is cluttered most of the time, because I’m always testing new products for Bee Naturals on myself, but that’s another story for another day…
So, at Bee Naturals we are declaring a new position in the war on aging.
Pro-Aging = Making a conscious choice to put our best and most efficient effort into preserving our beauty, not exhausting ourselves by battling to look 20 years younger. Rather, let’s fill our lungs with air, nourish our bodies, minds and souls and set our priorities on enjoying what we have. It’s not about hiding, but revealing beautiful skin and the beautiful you, beneath.
Consider this for a moment-
Anti-aging means against or opposed to, which implies resistance, which frankly takes a lot of energy that can be better used for other endeavors.
Pro-aging can mean many things, but here I’d like to suggest ‘proactive’. For me, as a formulator, it suggests making educated, intentional choices based on sound information. It does not require the expenditure of endless ‘resistance’ energy.
I’d love to hear what you think and about your strategy and your story- who knows, you may be selected to be featured as one of our ‘Beautiful Boomers’ in a future edition. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org
